HAUSLETT PRICING & FEES

Know the costs. Understand the process.

Rental charges depend on the property and the services involved. Explore how property costs, Hauslett service charges, inspection fees and payment processing fit together before you commit.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR COSTS

What makes up a rental payment?

Each charge has a purpose. Your listing and payment summary should show the applicable amounts before you confirm.

Rent, caution deposit and legal fees

These are property-related charges. They are payable directly to the property owner, landlord or authorised rent-money recipient identified by the agent or property manager who listed the property. Confirm the recipient and payment instructions before making a payment.

Agent fee

The agent or property professional who lists the property sets the agent fee shown on that listing. Check the amount before booking an inspection or proceeding with the rental.

Hauslett service charge

This supports Hauslett's rental coordination and operational services. The applicable charge is calculated under the Hauslett pricing policy and shown in the listing's itemised breakdown.

Inspection and payment processing

The inspection fee is paid when the inspection is booked. Where applicable, a payment-processing fee is shown separately before payment authorisation. An eligible Commitment Credit reduces the service charge, not the property owner's charges.

HAUSLETT PRICING POLICY

One clear pricing policy for rent listings

Hauslett applies the relevant service-charge rate to each rental listing. The rate may vary by property, and the applicable amount is shown in the listing breakdown.

Rent listing service charge

Applicable service-charge rate 5%
Additional fixed service charge ₦5,000
How it works

The service charge is calculated against the property package (rent + caution deposit + legal fee), using the applicable rate for the listing. Where the policy includes a fixed component, that amount is added. The live example below shows the amount calculated for an actual published rental listing.

INSPECTION & COMMITMENT

Inspection fee and Commitment Credit

When the Commitment Credit policy applies, the inspection fee paid for an inspection may be deducted from eligible Hauslett service charges for the same property. It is not a deduction from rent, caution deposit or legal fees. The credit is subject to the eligibility period, eligible-property limit and other policy conditions.

How much is the inspection fee?

The fee for your selected property is shown before you confirm an inspection booking. The amount may depend on the listing and the inspection pricing policy.

Live listing inspection fee: ₦1,000

This is the inspection fee calculated for the live listing used in the example below. Your selected listing may have a different fee.

When can the inspection fee be deducted?

Under the Commitment Credit policy, an eligible inspection fee may be deducted from Hauslett's service charge when you proceed with the same property.

Eligibility period 10 days
Eligible-property limit 1 eligible property
Maximum deduction Up to the eligible service charge
The credit reduces Hauslett's service charge only.

It does not reduce rent, caution deposit, legal fees or the agent's fee. The deduction cannot exceed the eligible Hauslett service charge. The credit is subject to validation, expiry and the other terms of the policy.

FOR PROPERTY PROFESSIONALS

How Hauslett works with agent fees

Agents and property professionals set their own agent fees for their rental listings. Hauslett applies a separate platform deduction to the agent fee under its pricing policy.

Hauslett's agent-fee deduction

Hauslett retains 10% of the agent fee as its platform deduction. The balance of the agent fee, after this deduction, is the agent commission. This deduction is separate from the renter's Hauslett service charge.

Illustration

If an agent fee is ₦10,000 and the applicable Hauslett deduction is 10%, Hauslett's deduction is ₦1,000. The remaining agent commission is ₦9,000 and is paid to the agent's bank details provided.

What Hauslett's service charge supports

Hauslett coordinates parts of the rental process, including property verification, inspection coordination and structured communication around the transaction. These operations require time, fieldwork and platform resources.

Property verification is part of Hauslett's operational process. It is not a guarantee against every possible issue with a property.
