Welcome to Hauslett.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Hauslett platform, website, mobile services, and related tools (collectively, the “Platform”).
By accessing or using Hauslett, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1. DEFINITIONS
For clarity:
- “Hauslett” refers to the platform operator and its authorized representatives.
- “Platform” means the website, applications, and related systems operated by Hauslett.
- “User” means any person accessing or using the Platform.
- “Renter” means a user seeking to rent property.
- “Agent” means a user listing property on behalf of a landlord or owner.
- “Field Officer” means a Hauslett operational staff member coordinating inspections.
- “Listing” means a property advertisement submitted to the Platform.
- “Inspection Hold” means a refundable booking-related payment required to confirm inspection.
- “Processing & Protection Fee”, “Secure Payment Charge” means platform service charges applied at checkout.
- “Commitment Credit” means an inspection booking payment required to confirm a property inspection through the Platform. The payment may function as a platform credit applicable toward eligible Hauslett service charges subject to the Commitment Credit Policy.
2. NATURE OF THE PLATFORM
Hauslett is a rental protection and transaction coordination platform.
Hauslett:
- Does not own listed properties.
- Is not a landlord.
- Is not a property manager.
- Does not act as a real estate broker or agent.
- Does not negotiate rental prices.
- Does not take custody of rent on behalf of landlords in Phase 1 operations.
Hauslett provides infrastructure to:
- Structure listing data
- Coordinate inspections
- Facilitate protected transaction flows
- Enforce compliance standards
3. ELIGIBILITY
To use the Platform:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must provide accurate registration information.
- You must not have been previously suspended.
Hauslett reserves the right to refuse access to any user at its discretion.
4. USER ACCOUNTS
Users must:
- Maintain accurate information
- Protect login credentials
- Notify Hauslett of unauthorized access
Users are responsible for activities under their accounts.
5. LISTINGS (AGENTS & LANDLORDS)
Agents and landlords agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Submit structured property data as required
- Ensure they are authorized to list the property
- Comply with all applicable housing laws
Hauslett reserves the right to:
- Remove inaccurate listings
- Request documentation
- Suspend non-compliant accounts
Hauslett does not independently verify ownership unless required by internal review.
6. INSPECTIONS
Inspection bookings may require an Inspection Hold.
By booking an inspection, renters agree:
- To attend at the scheduled time
- To comply with conduct standards
- To complete transactions through the Platform to remain eligible for refunds
Field Officers coordinate inspections but do not guarantee property condition.
Hauslett is not liable for:
- Property defects
- Misrepresentations not reported before inspection
- Third-party misconduct beyond reasonable control
7. INSPECTION HOLDS, COMMITMENT CREDITS & REFUNDS
Certain property inspections on the Platform require a booking payment referred to as an Inspection Hold or Commitment Credit.
These payments are designed to support coordinated inspection scheduling and discourage non-serious bookings.
By booking an inspection, renters agree that:
- Inspection payments may be required before inspection confirmation.
- The inspection payment may function as a Commitment Credit that may be applied toward eligible Hauslett platform fees during the final property securing process, subject to the Commitment Credit Policy.
- Inspection payment eligibility, usage conditions, and expiry rules are governed by the Hauslett Commitment Credit Policy.

Inspection payments may be:
- Non-refundable
- Property-specific
- Time-limited
- Subject to eligibility conditions
Refund eligibility depends on:
- Attendance at the inspection
- Compliance with platform rules
- Completion of the transaction within the Platform
- Applicable policy terms at the time of booking
Where a listing explicitly indicates a refundable inspection model, the refund conditions displayed on the listing will apply.
Failure to comply with platform requirements or attempts to complete transactions off-platform may result in forfeiture of inspection-related payments.
Hauslett reserves the right to enforce inspection payment policies to maintain platform integrity.
8. PAYMENTS
Certain transactions on Hauslett require payment processing.
Users agree:
- To complete payments through the Platform
- Not to divert transactions off-platform
- Not to solicit or accept off-platform payment in violation of policy
Off-platform payments:
- Void certain protections
- May result in account suspension
Hauslett does not guarantee transaction outcomes but facilitates structured processing.
9. PROCESSING & PROTECTION FEES
The Platform may apply Processing & Protection Fees to support:
- Inspection coordination
- Operational enforcement
- Platform maintenance
- Support services
Fees are disclosed at checkout.
Fees may change with notice.
10. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
Users may not:
- Provide false listing information
- Attempt to bypass the Platform
- Harass other users
- Demand unrecorded payments
- Manipulate inspection systems
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Circumvent structured requirements
Violation may result in:
- Immediate suspension
- Permanent removal
- Reporting to relevant authorities
11. PLATFORM ENFORCEMENT
Hauslett reserves the right to:
- Monitor transactions
- Suspend accounts
- Remove listings
- Restrict access
- Investigate suspicious behavior
Decisions are made at Hauslett’s discretion to protect platform integrity.
12. DISCLAIMERS
Hauslett does not guarantee:
- Property quality
- Rental approval
- Lease execution
- Landlord conduct
- Agent performance
All property decisions remain the responsibility of the renter and landlord.
Hauslett provides coordination infrastructure, not guarantees.
13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Hauslett is not liable for:
- Indirect damages
- Lost profits
- Property disputes
- Contract breaches between renter and landlord
- Actions of third parties
Total liability shall not exceed the total fees paid by the user to Hauslett within the preceding transaction.
14. INDEMNIFICATION
Users agree to indemnify and hold Hauslett harmless from:
- Claims arising from false listings
- Violations of law
- Breach of these Terms
- Misconduct during inspections
15. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All Platform content, design, structure, and systems belong to Hauslett.
Users may not:
- Copy proprietary systems
- Scrape listing data
- Republish structured data at scale
- Reverse-engineer platform processes
16. PRIVACY
Use of the Platform is subject to the Privacy Policy.
Users consent to data processing necessary for platform operation.
17. MODIFICATIONS
Hauslett may update these Terms at any time.
Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
18. TERMINATION
Hauslett may terminate accounts for:
- Policy violations
- Fraud
- Repeated non-compliance
- Platform abuse
Users may discontinue use at any time.
19. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Disputes shall be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction within Nigeria.
