Hauslett Commitment Credit Policy
Effective Date: Janurary 1, 2026
Last Updated: March 1, 2026
Applies to: All users booking inspections through the Hauslett platform.
1. Overview
The Hauslett Commitment Credit is a mandatory inspection booking payment required to secure a property inspection through the Hauslett platform.
This payment supports a structured inspection process by:
- Reducing non-serious inspection bookings
- Improving inspection scheduling efficiency
- Supporting coordinated property access
- Encouraging intentional renter engagement
Where applicable, the inspection payment may function as a Commitment Credit that can be applied toward eligible Hauslett platform service charges during the final property securing process.
Commitment Credits apply only to Hauslett platform charges and do not represent rent payments, tenancy deposits, or landlord obligations.
2. Inspection Fee Requirement
To book an inspection for any property listed on Hauslett:
- The renter must pay the inspection fee displayed on the property page.
- Inspection booking is not confirmed until payment is successfully processed.
- The inspection fee is tied to the specific property and renter account.
The inspection payment functions as a platform coordination fee that enables the scheduling and management of property inspections through the platform.
Hauslett reserves the right to adjust inspection fee amounts across listings where necessary to maintain platform efficiency and inspection coordination.
3. Commitment Credit Application
Where applicable, the inspection payment becomes a Commitment Credit.
If the renter proceeds to secure the same property through the Hauslett platform:
- 100% of the inspection fee paid may be applied toward eligible Hauslett platform service charges associated with securing the property.
- The credit applies only to the property for which the inspection was booked.
- The credit may only be used once.
- The credit cannot exceed the applicable Hauslett platform charges.
Eligible credits may be automatically applied during the platform checkout process.
Commitment Credits do not apply to landlord rent payments.
4. Credit Eligibility Conditions
The Commitment Credit is valid only when the following conditions are met:
- The inspection payment was successfully completed.
- The renter proceeds with the property securing process through the Hauslett platform.
- The credit remains within its stated validity period.
- The credit has not previously been used.
- The property transaction is coordinated through the Hauslett platform.
Credits cannot be transferred between users or applied to different properties.
5. Credit Expiry
Commitment Credits remain valid only for the duration specified on the property listing or platform settings.
If the renter does not proceed with the property securing process within the stated validity period:
- The credit will expire automatically.
- Expired credits cannot be reactivated.
- Expired credits are not refundable unless explicitly stated.
Hauslett reserves the right to adjust credit validity periods where necessary to maintain platform efficiency and integrity.
6. Refund Policy
Unless explicitly stated on a property listing:
- Inspection fees are non-refundable.
- Commitment Credits cannot be converted to cash.
- No refund will be issued for missed inspections.
- No refund will be issued if the renter chooses not to proceed with the property.
If a listing explicitly indicates a refundable inspection model:
- Refund eligibility conditions will apply as stated on the listing.
- Refund requests submitted outside the stated period will not be honored.
Hauslett retains discretion in evaluating refund requests in cases involving platform error or exceptional circumstances.
7. Non-Transferability
Commitment Credits:
- Cannot be transferred to another user
- Cannot be transferred to another property
- Cannot be converted to cash
- Cannot be withdrawn
- Cannot be exchanged
Credits remain tied to the original inspection booking and the user account that initiated the payment.
8. Abuse and Circumvention
Attempts to undermine the inspection system or credit structure may result in enforcement actions.
Examples include:
- Circumventing inspection fee requirements
- Coordinating off-platform rental payments after inspection
- Manipulating or exploiting the credit system
- Creating multiple accounts to reuse credits
Such actions may result in:
- Immediate credit forfeiture
- Account suspension
- Permanent removal from the platform
Hauslett reserves full discretion in enforcing platform integrity.
Hauslett may also audit inspection and platform transaction activity and may reverse or void credits where suspicious activity is detected.
9. Platform Role
Hauslett operates as a technology platform that coordinates property listings, inspections, and structured transaction processes.
Hauslett does not:
- Own listed properties
- Act as a landlord
- Act as a real estate broker
- Guarantee property availability after inspection
- Guarantee landlord acceptance
- Guarantee tenancy approval
Inspection payments and Commitment Credits do not constitute a tenancy agreement or rental contract.
All tenancy decisions remain between the renter and the property owner or their authorized agent.
10. Policy Modifications
Hauslett may update this Commitment Credit Policy periodically.
Changes may occur to reflect operational improvements, platform changes, or regulatory requirements.
Continued use of the platform after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Users are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
